I am currently working as a bioinformatician at the institute of cancer research, UK. Which involves both the analysis of large data sets from microarray experiments, developing software and anything else that is useful to the lab scientists. Before that I completed a PhD in computational biology at UCL, London based around the p53 DNA damage gene regulatory network. Perhaps surprisingly, I started off my higher education as a physicist studying at Imperial for a MSci. To be honest I still consider myself a Physicist at heart!
Apart from work, I am into the normal sort of things: music, films, tinkering with computers, football and of course going out with friends. Here is a sample of my music tastes: Massive attack, Super Furry Animals, Godspeed you black emperor, Roots Manuva, Public enemy, Blur, Jurrasic 5, The flaming lips, Daft punk, Gorillaz, Add N to (X) (more details here). As for computing, I am into Linux and the whole open source thang.
